THE CHALLENGE
Two much-loved preschools — Nowra Preschool Education Centre and Callala Bay Preschool — were coming together under shared ownership. Both had strong roots in their local communities. Both were trusted by families. But operating as two separate, unconnected identities meant there was no cohesive brand to grow from, no shared story to tell, and no name that could hold both centres together with confidence.
The owners needed more than a visual refresh. They needed a name — one that could unite two communities, carry genuine warmth, and signal something bigger was being built.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The local early learning market was dominated by either large corporate operators or small centres that felt informal and ad hoc. Neither spoke to what these two preschools were actually delivering: a deeply intentional, development-first approach, rooted in the communities they served.
Growing confident capable curious learners ready for school and life beyond.
THE OUTCOME
The brand was built around a single idea: small scale, big impact. Not a compromise — a deliberate choice. Small groups, stable educators, purposeful play. A model that lets every child be known, not just managed.
Big Little Futures captured that idea in three words. The tension in the name big ambitions held inside little beginnings felt true to the philosophy and true to the families it was speaking to. It was warm without being soft, confident without being corporate, and completely ownable in a category full of generic names.
That idea shaped everything that followed. A joyful, bold visual identity full of colour and movement. A confident, possibility-led voice that speaks to families without pressure or jargon. A brand architecture that keeps Big Little Futures as the hero, with each location sitting clearly beneath it.
THE RESULTS
A new name that united two communities under one clear, ownable identity
Clear positioning that separates Big Little Futures from both large corporate operators and undifferentiated local preschools
A brand playbook equipping directors and educators to apply the brand confidently as the group continues to grow
"This is beyond anything we imagined. We knew what we were building, but seeing it all come together — the name, the brand, the playbook — it finally feels like the outside matches what we've been doing on the inside all along.
I've worked with large branding agencies before, and this experience was something else entirely. It was smoother, more considered, and Bec actually got us. We felt heard from the very beginning."
